There are times when you don't want to make a standard scrapbook. You may have an event that you want to immortalize but don't want to go through the effort of making a standard size scrapbook. After all producing a full scrapbook does take time. This is where the use of a mini scrapbook comes in. Instead of being 12x12 these can be as small as 6x6. This means a lot less embellishments to deal with so you'll be able to complete your scrapbook that much faster.

Mini scrapbooks can either be bought pre-made or you can make your own. Before getting started you should come up with a theme. You could make a mini scrapbook about a trip to the beach, a road trip, a baby boy or girl etc. Now that you have the theme picked out you need to get your mini scrapbook. If you are short on time then I recommend you purchase a pre-made mini scrapbook instead of making a mini scrapbook.

Steps to take before beginning to make a mini scrapbook:

  1. Organize your pictures
  2. Decide on the theme and general layout you want
  3. Select the album and paper
  4. Select the embellishments you want to use

There are numerous websites that you can purchase a mini scrapbook from. Or you can go to your local crafts store and get one there. Either way once you have it then it is time to make your mini scrapbook. The steps to do this are basically the same as making a regular scrapbook.

  1. Organize how you want the pages to look
  2. Create your background and/or borders
  3. Crop and mat your pictures
  4. Start placing the pictures into the scrapbook
  5. Put journaling onto each page of the scrapbook
  6. Add the embellishments

There you go. You have now made a mini scrapbook.

Happy scrapbooking!
