Make Your Scrapbook Layout Title Something Special

When designing your scrapbook layouts give a little thought to your title.

Your title is an important element in your layout and it's worthwhile tailoring them to suit the topic or people that your scrapbook layout is about. What do i mean by that?

Well basically, try to make your titles interesting and relevant. Don't just use a bald statement of the event. Sometimes using a phrase that means something or evokes memories can be a better option that just a plain descriptive title.

For example, if young Jonah always refers to blowing (as in candles) as 'foofing', then a title like "Foofin' Out the Candles" might make a better choice for your scrapbook layout rather than "Jonah's 3rd Birthday". That way whenever you or your family (including Jonah) look at it in later years, it will immediately evoke all the memories of the time when he was a little boy of three. Do you see what I mean?

If you put a little extra thought into choosing the titles for your scrapbook layouts, they will really become part of the story you're wanting to tell in creating your overall layout. And they will add to the intensely personal artifact which is what a scrapbook layout really is. After all if you're going to take the time to create a unique piece of ephemeral art then you surely want to give it a very unique title.

So think about the event your scrapbook layout is celebrating. And then think again. Look beyond the obvious.

And if you're creating your scrapbook layout digitally, use some of the fun effects and techniques that your graphics editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop Elements, can provide to make your title more than just a piece of large text on your page.

Because your scrapbook layouts are more than just a bunch of photos!
