Masked Marvels!
March 5, 2008 on 11:10 am | In Embellishments, Scrapbooking Techniques |
I know! Here I go again! But I can’t help it! I am hopelessly attached to my paint. And YOU want a new technique, DON’T YOU! This one is simple, quick and F-U-N! All you need is:
PAINT
MASK
PROJECT BASE(layout, paper, anything you can alter)
EMBELLISHMENTS
PAINT PEN or MARKER
One of my fave online girlfriends showed me the light on this project! Thanx Pink Chi! And I’ve used Heidi Swapp masks before on layouts, but never on anything else. So what a perfect idea to scrapjack from one of my fave people. Here we go!
I decided to find the same small, round mirrors used in my scrapjack. My favorite part after the technique, is the quote Julia used on her mirror. After cleaning the fingers prints off the mirror, I placed the mask where I thought it
would be best. Using the Making Memory paint, I covered the entire part of the mirror. You can carefully peel off the mask while the paint is still wet, then set the mirror aside to dry. After it’s dry you can add your journaling, title or quote with rub ons, markers and/or stickers. And don’t forget the extra embellishments! What girl doesn’t like bling?
Want to see the finished project? Come on over to the gallery….and make sure to show me your finished project when you get the time to try this one out! You can also see how Design Team member Kelly Crowl used the Heidi Swapp dot mask on one of her layouts.
Cheers!
Charity

Whoa, Artsy Chick, this is one stellar project! I would have never thought of using a mask on a mirror. Amazing, artsy, fresh, fun, looks easy too! I’ve gotta tell ya, I love the quote too! And all of the bling and was that glitter? Awesome! Keep on creating, you inspire us all!
Thanks for linking my masking LO from the gallery, I love to share!
