|
|
I made this album out of the leftover package or Making Memories Border & Tag Stickers from the Lovebug April kit. Although you could use any leftover package.
Supplies
Leftover product package
Junkitz Extreme Boy patterned paper
Boy-themed rubons
Junkitz Extreme Boy chipboard accents and clear ribbon
Red glitter chipboard alpha
Binder rings
Black Stickles
How To
Mark your package at 1/3 and 2/3. Cut 1/3 off (through the plastic and the inside card material). This becomes your inside page. I use a guillotine style trimmer for this to cut neatly through all the layers. Then pull the remaining 2/3 card material out of the plastic (from now on, I will refer to the plastic as the "page protector"). Cut that piece of card material in half, so you have 3 pieces all the same width. Finally, cut the end off your 2/3 piece of page protector so you have an opening on both sides. Insert 2 cards back into this longer page protector and fold in half.
Put the book together, with your inside page and punch 3 holes evenly spaced down the long edge. This is where your binder rings go. You could also use just 2 binder rings if you want.
For the cover of your book, remove one of the cards and cover with patterned paper for the background. I also inked the edges and also randomly across the paper for a "dirty" look. Don't forget to punch holes again through the new background paper, using the back side of the card as your hole guide.
Now decorate your background with pictures and embellisments. Here's what mine looked like outside of the page protector.
Now, try to think outside of the page protector! It adds really nice dimension if you stick a few embellishments on the outside of your page protector. I added the glitter chipboard letters, rubons ("All Boy"), and 2 chipboard accents. Here is what it looks like with the page inside the page protector.
Prepare another layout for the other side of the cover card. I prepared my pages before adhering to the card in case I wanted to put in brads, or other things that I wouldn't want to show on the other side of the card. I adhered the pages to the cards to add strength and structure to the album. Here is what page 1 looks like outside of the page protector.
Put the completed layout back inside the page protector and punch holes through the page again. Again, think outside the page protector and add embellishments. I cut out some words from the patterned paper and glued them to the page protector. I added the chipboard accent to the outside of the page protector. I also accented some things on the page with black Stickles.
Continue to fill your book, decorating both inside and outside the page protector. I used lettering for some pages from the "Big Words" sheet, and journaling words from the shooting star sheet. Finish by inserting binder rings through the holes in the pages. I also added coordinating ribbon and hemp string.
