Scrapbook Challenge : Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #71 – 13 Going On 30!
March 20th, 2010

Welcome to our 71st challenge, where today we are featuring the fun film: 13 Going on 30 starring Jennifer Garner. This is a story of a 13 year old who is desparetly trying to fit in and wishes that she were older and on her birthday she gets her wish to be 30. And she finds that perhaps sometimes, what you wish for, might not be what you really want. This is a fun movie with lots of odes to 80's music from the likes of Pat Benatar, Vanilla Ice, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and more!). The challenge requirement this week is to create something that has some geometric shapes (like stars, circles, squares, trangles (you could have a lot of fun with your punches :) the 80's were full of fun loud geometric prints - so have fun! Please check out this awesome link for a ton of inspiration pictures from this movie! Here is the trailer that you can watch to get your mojo going:
Brooke's Card inspired by the movie: 13 Going on 30
The movie 13 going on 30 is really a sweet reminder that the grass is not always greener on the
other side. If I had a chance to go in to the future I would not take it.. I want to love everyone for who they are and not have any information good or bad to
chance the way I would treat them. I know that might sound corny but I have though about that
multiple times.

If I could go back in time and re-live a moment that would be another story.. Not that I would
change anything. Just enjoy the moment again. Matty played my Mark Rullalo is one of my
favorite things about this movie. It just proves sometimes we can't even see what's at the end
of our noses. He is so thoughtful and sweet. You can't help but love him.
If you want to read all the details about my card and the inspiration please join me on my blog
and read my NOVEL (sorry) about it..
Please say Hi :)

Sankari's Card inspired by the movie: 13 Going on 30
I remember watching this movie in the theater when it came out and I loved watching it because I grew up in the 80's - so all of the references, music, and little "jokes" were something that i totally got. One of my favorite parts of this movie was when she asked her mother if there was something that she wished she could do over again - like if she had made some mistake and wished she could re-do it. Her mother gave her such a beautiful answer I thought - which was that those moemnts give us an opportunity to figure out how to make things right. This movie I felt was about sometimes what we think we wish for might not always be what we really want and its about a chance to be true to ourselves.

My card is inspired by her friendship with her best friend Matt - whom she realizes, she has always loved but never given him a chance. Their childhood friendship is so sweet and he truly sees her for who she is - a wonderful, happy, caring and beautiful person. Sometimes, we can take for granted our friendships and our family because you know they will always be there for you - but it is so nice to make sure they know how much you appreciate them! This card is for one of my best friends and even though we have grown a bit far apart over space and time - she will always be one of my BFFs :)
Big hugs!
Sankari :)
